BETHANY, Okla. (AP) -- Bethany Police say a man killed himself after leading officers on a chase.

Police Chief Neal Troutman says the man was stopped for a traffic violation when police found out his car was reported stolen.

Troutman says the suspect drove away when the officer tried to arrest him.

Troutman says when the chase ended, the man turned and looked at the officer, then put a pistol to his head and shot himself.

The man's name hasn't been released.
