DecisionOne and the Blue Star Mothers will be out again today to collect items to send to soldiers overseas.
You can drop off items outside Krispy Kreme donut shop on 71st Street. Shoppers at this Wal-Mart donated Tuesday to the Blue Star Mothers.
The group, along with volunteers from Tulsa's DecisionOne, will send donations to military men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. Items needed include socks, books, toiletries and writing supplies.
Volunteers say they're thrilled with the response so far. DecisionOne employee Laura Fraser: "All of a sudden, people started getting off work and started hitting about five o'clock and there was just people coming in and out asking what they needed."
Volunteers will take donations today until 7 PM at Krispy Kreme near 71st and US Highway 169.
