SEAFORD, N.Y. (AP) _ A Canton Bulldogs' football jersey worn by Oklahoma native Jim Thorpe has sold for $284,350.

Thorpe is believed to have worn the black sweater in 1916 or '17. It features a tan ``C'' knit into the fabric and was saved by Thorpe's third wife, Patricia.

The jersey was sold at auction by Lelands.com.
