OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma will receive nearly $30 million from the federal government to fund homeland security programs throughout the state, the governor's office said Monday.
``This federal funding is critical to helping us ensure the safety and security of Oklahomans,'' Gov. Brad Henry said. ``The threat of terrorism requires that we remain ever-vigilant.''
The money will go to several programs, including:
_ The State Homeland Security Program, $15.5 million.
_ Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program, $5.6 million.
_ Urban Areas Security Initiative $5.5 million.
_ Emergency Management Performance Grant Program, $2.5 million.
_ The Metropolitan Medical Response System Program, $455,184.
_ Citizen Corps, $197,434.
This will bring to $92 million the total Oklahoma has received for domestic preparedness efforts.
