MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- A federal judge has sentenced a Stilwell businessman to five years in prison for his role in a murder-for-hire plot involving his friend's husband.
Hugh Alan Means pleaded guilty in August for planning to use a telephone with intent to commit murder-for-hire.
District Judge Ronald -A- White sentenced Means Tuesday and imposed a $100,000 fine and three years of supervised release after the prison term.
Court records show Means and Katherine Robertson were accused of paying another person to find a hit man to kill Robertson's husband, Brett. Brett Robertson wasn't harmed.
Records show Means admitted meeting with the alleged hit man and paying $15,000 for the deal.
Katherine Robertson was convicted earlier this month on five counts and still faces formal sentencing.
