OU's Jason White sits atop two Heisman polls

UNDATED (AP) _ University of Oklahoma quarterback Jason White is in first place in a pair of national Heisman Trophy polls.

White tops ESPN's weekly Heisman poll with five first-place votes and 42 points. He is followed by Southern Cal quarterback Matt Leinart, who has 36 points and three first-place votes.

The two quarterbacks are one and two in the Scripps-Howard Heisman poll conducted by the Rocky Mountain News.

In that poll, White has 44 points and six first-place votes. Leinart has 40 points and four first-place votes. Utah's Alex Smith, Texas' Cedric Benson and OU's Adrian Peterson round out the top five in both polls.
