Oklahoma's centennial celebration starts two years from Tuesday and will kick off in Tulsa. The Centennial Commission plans a year long celebration to include $8-million worth of projects in Tulsa.
They include a new downtown park, several monuments and a 100 foot tall water fountain in the Arkansas River.
Blake Wade with the Centennial Commission: "Every community is important for the centennial and we want every community to have something whether it's a parade or monument, it doesn't matter, we want every community to decide what they want to do to celebrate the centennial of Oklahoma."
Tuesday was the 97th anniversary of Oklahoma's statehood.
