OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The state Ethics Commission will be the next stop in the investigation of a Tulsa-based lawsuit reform advocacy group.
A pair of Democratic state senators filed a complaint in September against Oklahomans for Lawsuit Reform.
Senators Richard Lerblance of Hartshorne and Jeff Rabon of Hugo say the group used corporate donations to support Republican legislative candidates. They say that violates the state Constitution and campaign laws.
The senators asked Attorney General Drew Edmondson to convene a grand jury. But a spokesman for Edmondson said today the complaint is being forwarded to the Ethics Commission, which investigates campaign finance issues.
A spokesman for the lawsuit reform group -- John Brock of Tulsa -- wasn't immediately available for comment.
