The girlfriend of a man killed near a Tulsa nightclub wants tougher guidelines for bouncers.
Her request comes after a recent string of violence at some Tulsa nightclubs. Teresa DeSirey wants bouncers at Tulsa nightclubs to meet certain requirements. She wants these rules after her boyfriend Scott Bolton was punched at a Tulsa nightclub in September.
Tulsa Police documents say Bolton was punched hit his head on the ground and later died from his injuries. Police think a former bouncer may have thrown the fatal punch. Teresa DeSirey: "I loved him with all my heart and losing him has been so devastating. The only thing I can do is make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else."
DeSirey is pushing for three major requirements: She wants bouncers to be licensed, drug-tested and criminal background checks run on them.
DeSirey is circulating a petition and she plans on taking it to the Tulsa City Council in the future.
