Florida residents are still recovering from the rash of hurricanes that slammed the coast earlier this year.

Some of America's war veterans were among those displaced, so some Tulsa area heroes are lending a hand. Vietnam Veterans from local chapter 524 are teaming up with "Stand Down, Incorporated" to help fellow veterans put out by the hurricane.

After they've voted on November 2nd, organizers say they'll drive a truck loaded with supplies straight to Florida. Lew Broughton with Vietnam Veteran's Local 524: "We'll turn it over to the Vietnam Veterans State Council in Florida and they will distribute clothing and toys and stuff out to people that need it."

The group is still looking for donations. If you'd like to help out with clothing, blankets or children’s toys you can drop them off at 1414 North Memorial or call 693-1301 for more details.
