OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Senator Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina visited Oklahoma City Wednesday to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Tom Coburn.

After a fund-raiser, the two toured Lakeside Women's Hospital in north Oklahoma City.

Dole praised Coburn for his background in business and medicine and says she looks forward to working with him in the Senate. She also says she respects him as a man of his word for resigning from the US House after a self-imposed limit of three terms.

Recent polls show the two candidates about even in the race to succeed retiring Senator Don Nickles.
