CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) _ Derek Anderson threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns to lead Oregon State to a 38-19 victory Saturday over Washington State, which lost its third straight.

Dwight Wright caught a touchdown then ran for another for the Beavers (3-4, 2-2 Pac-10), who have put together a modest two-game winning streak for the first time this season.

Jerome Harrison ran 19 yards for a score in the third quarter and Loren Langley added a field goal for the Cougars (3-4, 1-3), who also had a safety and got a late scoring pass from redshirt freshman Alex Brink.

Wright, who took over as Oregon State's starting tailback this season after Steven Jackson left school early for the NFL draft, caught a 3-yard scoring pass from Anderson and also ran for an 8-yard touchdown in the first half.

Marcel Love's 44-yard touchdown reception made it 24-3 at halftime.

Alexis Serna, who set a school record with five field goals in Oregon State's 29-14 victory over Washington in Seattle last weekend, added a 36-yarder midway through the first quarter.

After the Cougars' safety early in the third, Ryan Cole had a 79-yard run for the Beavers to make it 31-5. Cole finished with 12 carries for 104 yards.

Harrison started in place of Chris Bruhn, who injured his shoulder in the Cougars' 23-17 loss to Stanford last week.

Meanwhile, Washington State's starting quarterback Josh Swogger is out for the rest of the season with a broken bone in his right foot.

The Cougars turned to Brink, the former Oregon player of the year who led Sheldon High School to the state championship.

Brink, who had already seen playing time against Colorado and Idaho, completed 15 of 41 passes for 201 yards and a touchdown. He was intercepted twice.

He finally connected with Greg Prator on a 32-yard pass play with 4:01 left in the game.

Cougars receiver Jason Hill, who had nine touchdown receptions going into the game, was largely ineffective, with one catch for 39 yards.

The last time Oregon State beat both Washington and Washington State was in 1974. That Dee Andros-coached team also beat rival Oregon that year.

Anderson completed 18 of 39 passes with one interception. He has thrown an Oregon State record 64 career touchdowns, and is closing in on Jonathan Smith's school record for passing yards.

Anderson has thrown for 9,627 yards, surpassing Erik Wilhelm (1985-88), who threw for 9,393 yards. Smith (1998-01) threw for 9,680 yards.

Mike Hass, who was leading the Pac-10 with an average of 116.5 yards per game, caught five passes for 99 yards.
