McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- An attempted scam involving an alleged lottery is being reported by a southeast Oklahoma woman.
Candee Ryan says she received a letter from Madrid, Spain, telling her she'd won more than $615,000.
All she had to provide was her name, birth date, profession, marital status, name of her bank and her bank account number and account routing number.
Ryan says she's never bought a lottery ticket or played a lottery on the Internet.
She contacted the Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office and Postal inspectors who say the lottery is a scam.
