Some Tulsa residents are homeless. In early October, inspections of the Towerview Apartments near 3rd and Cheyenne, found several code violations.

The apartment managers were given 10 days to fix those violations, but instead, posted a letter telling residents to find other places to live. Tuesday, all the residents had to be out of the building so it could be boarded up.

Former resident Katherine Brown: "I'm just trying to figure out what's next. I don't know, I'm out here now."

Another former resident Scottie Edwards: "I had to send my kids back to Lawrence, because we have no other place to live. I guess I'll go down to a shelter or something, stay with a buddy I work with."

Towerview manager Shawna Brown: "They were upset. They were losing their homes, may not be the best building, but it was their homes."

Tulsa County officials say they gave the Towerview a reasonable amount of time to make the necessary building improvements.

The building's owner could have filed an appeal to get more time, but city officials say that never happened.
