McALESTER, Okla. (AP) _ Boeing officials say they will know in a few months whether the company will sell its facilities in McAlester, Tulsa, and Wichita, Kansas.
Boeing director of communications Steve Hendrickson says the company hopes to reach a decision before the end of the year.
The three plants are included in a study that Boeing has been conducting with industry leaders this year to determine the level of market interest for the three facilities.
The British Aerospace company GKN has confirmed it is one of four companies still talking to the Boeing company about a purchase.
Boeing currently has 178 employees at the McAlester facility and about a thousand in Tulsa.
Approximately 9,000 workers are employed in Wichita.
