NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Coach Kelvin Sampson probably feels like he's entered the land of plenty.

After finishing last season with a roster thinned by a season-ending shoulder surgery to Kevin Bookout and the dismissal of Jabahri Brown, the Sooners are looking to start this season with five post players, including Bookout.

The frontcourt depth will be a new luxury for Sampson.

By the end of last season, he had only one choice for a starting frontcourt: Larry Turner and Johnnie Gilbert. And when Turner or Gilbert needed a rest, he had to go small.

That won't be the case this year.

Sampson has Gilbert and Turner back while gaining junior college transfer Taj Gray and freshman recruit Longar Longar.

Oklahoma begins practice on Saturday and has two exhibition games before opening the regular season against Cal State-Northridge on November 20th.
