OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Monday’s daily round trip from Oklahoma City to Fort Worth, Texas, by Amtrak's Heartland Flyer has been canceled because of flash flooding in Texas. Joe Kyle with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation says two buses carrying a total of 50 passengers are making the trip to Fort Worth instead.

Kyle says both buses left Oklahoma City at 10 Monday morning with one to traveling nonstop to Fort Worth and the second to make the Heartland Flyer's regular stops in Norman, Purcell, Pauls Valley and Gainesville, Texas.

The Flyer's regular schedule calls for departure from Oklahoma City at 8:25 a.m. and the return trip leaving from Fort Worth at 12:39 p.m.

The rail line is owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Kyle says BNSF will decide when it's safe for the Flyer to resume service.
