LAS CRCUES, N.M. (AP) _ New Mexico State University will have a priority seating plan for men's basketball games beginning next season.
Under the plan, a donation is required for each seat in a priority seating section in the Pan American Center.
University officials did not say how much of a donation would be required.
Athletics director McKinley Boston says significant increases in costs for Aggie sports -- from scholarships to recruiting -- and the need to meet requirements by the Western Athletic Conference have made it necessary to have the priority seating plan.
NMSU says other Division One schools use the same priority seating approach.
The University of New Mexico, for example, has a program in The Pit with per-seat donations ranging from $100 to more than $1,200.
