OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ There are no reports of damage or injury after at least four tornadoes briefly touched down in northwestern Oklahoma during the night but heavy rains has closed several roads.
Two tornadoes were on the ground for about two minutes each just after 6:30 Wednesday night just west of Orienta in Major County. Two other twisters later touched down in the same area and were both on the ground for about a minute.
Heavy rains forced the closing of U.S. Highway 412 from Cleo Springs to U.S. Highway 281 and the closing of U.S. Highway 60 from Fairview to Orienta.
In Kiowa County U.S. Highway 183 and State Highway 9 are closed around Hobart and officials say numerous county roads are impassable.
Besides tornadoes and rain, four-inch hail was reported near Slapout in the Oklahoma Panhandle; a 77-mile per hour wind gust was clocked west of Erick and straight-line winds toppled trees onto a road near Canton.
