PORUM, Okla. (AP) -- Muskogee County authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man in a rural section of the county.

The Muskogee County Sheriff's Office was called the scene of the shooting about 6 p.m. Saturday and found a Hispanic man in his 20s dead with a gunshot wound to the mouth, said Deputy Tim Brown. The man's identity has not been released.

Witnesses told investigators a group of people were partying about 11 p.m. Friday when the shooting occurred.

"The story I'm getting doesn't jive with the evidence," Brown said. "The circumstances are suspicious."

If the shooting is ruled a homicide, it would be the fourth to take place in Muskogee County this year.
