OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Fewer motorists are dying on Oklahoma's roads and highways this year. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that so far this year, the number of traffic deaths in the state is down from the same time last year. Troopers say that 287 people have been killed in highway crashes so far this year. During the same period last year, 314 people had been killed.
A total of 12 people have died in collisions so far this month. The patrol says that's less than half of the 25 motorists who died in crashes in the state during the same period in June 2006.
