OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A Los Angeles-based film company is opening a motion picture production unit in Oklahoma with plans to make feature films in the Sooner state.
Vulcana Wolfe Productions has opened an office in Altus and is planning another in Oklahoma City to operate Quartz Mountain Films.

The company says will use locations and talent in Oklahoma and its first film in the state will be a comedy-thriller with principal photography to be shot in and around Norman in September.

Governor Brad Henry recently signed into law a bill giving film companies a 15% rebate on the money they spend in Oklahoma if the film's budget is at least $500,000.
