JET, Okla. (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry honored a northwestern Oklahoma farmer who taught high school vocational agriculture for 18 years. Eighty-one-year-old L-E Castle was inducted into the Oklahoma Agricultural Hall of Fame in a ceremony Monday morning at the Department of Agriculture.
The hall of fame was formed in 1998 to honor those who have served the farm and ranch industry honorably for more than 25 years.
Castle taught vocational agriculture at Burlington High School from 1952 to 1970 and has been farming and ranching in the Jet area for 37 years.
