OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Sandy Vojik homered and drove in 3 runs as DePaul eliminated Arizona State from the Women's College World Series with a 3-1 win Saturday.
Vojik hit a 2-run home run off Sun Devils starter Katie Burkhart (35-13) in the 5th inning and added an RBI single in the 7th to give the 14th-seeded Blue Demons a 3-0 lead.
Rhiannon Baca drove in the only run for Arizona State (54-17) with a single in the bottom of the 7th off Tracie Adix (22-3). Michelle Smith had 2 hits and scored for the Sun Devils.
Adix allowed 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. DePaul (47-12) advanced to face defending champion Arizona, the No. 1 seed, in another of the four elimination games scheduled Saturday.
Burkhart gave up 6 hits and walked 1. She had 9 strikeouts.
NCAA batting leader Kaitlin Cochran, who was walked in all three of her plate appearances in Arizona State's 2-0 loss to Northwestern in the opening round, was moved to the leadoff spot and went 1-3 with a single.
