TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Sara Mobley, who led Oklahoma City University to the past two NAIA national titles in women's golf, was hired Friday as an assistant coach at Tulsa.
Head coach Trelle McCombs complimented Mobley for having a "great work ethic" and knowledge of what it takes to play golf at the highest level.
"Coming to Tulsa is a dream come true. I'm very excited to get to work with Trelle and be a part of the Tulsa family. It will be a challenge for me that I'm looking forward to," Mobley said.
"It's an honor to be asked to help bring Tulsa back to the powerhouse of women's golf that they have been in the past."
Mobley, 29, previously was a student assistant at Northeastern State University, where she played her final two years of collegiate golf, before coaching at a Texas high school.
"Sara's enthusiasm is contagious and with that she will help instill excitement and fervor into our entire program from the student-athletes to staff, fans and boosters," McCombs said. "I look forward to working with Sara and helping her achieve her goals of eventually becoming a head coach at an NCAA Division I school."
