Several businesses and individuals have discovered a flock of pink flamingos in the yard. The News On 6’s Rick Wells traced the birds back to Broken Arrow, and reports on the flamingo infestation.
"What do you think of the pink flamingos?" asked News On 6 reporter Rick Wells.
"Well, I don't know what they are, what are they for?" responded one Green Country resident.
Lots of people want to know.
"You know we've had some very interesting comments," said Bank Manager Tiffany Drumm.
Customers are curious about all the birds, and The News On 6 has received several e-mails about the flamingo infestation. Carolyn says, “What's up with the flamingos? I was in Broken Arrow and saw a bus load of kids armed with pink flamingos.†Kurt says, “Rick Wells what's the deal with all the pink flamingos? I see everywhere."
Now we can tell you, we found the lady responsible. All those flamingos are part of a fund raiser.
"People hire us, we take the flock, and we flock your yard for a price, and you can be de-flocked for a price," Kim Manuel with the National Foundation for Transplants said.
Kim Manuel is working with the National Foundation for Transplants to support her brother-in-law's heart transplant, and the youth group that's helping put the pink birds out is hoping to finance another trip to the Gulf Coast to help out there.
