Owasso Shortstop Named State's Top Baseball Player

OWASSO, Okla. (AP) _ Owasso High School shortstop Peter Kozma is named the Gatorade Oklahoma Baseball Player of the Year. <br/><br/>Kozma helped the Rams win the Class 6A state championship this season.

OWASSO, Okla. (AP) _ Owasso High School shortstop Peter Kozma is named the Gatorade Oklahoma Baseball Player of the Year.

Kozma helped the Rams win the Class 6A state championship this season. He batted .522 with 11 home runs, 55 RBIs and 14 steals.

He hit a home run in the Rams' 1-0 championship game win over Edmond Memorial.

Kozma signed a letter-of-intent with Wichita State University, but is expected to be picked in Major League Baseball's amateur draft in June.
