Oklahomans felt the earth move. The Oklahoma Geological Survey reports a small earthquake and two aftershocks rumbled parts of Pittsburg County. The earthquake happened Sunday about 4 p.m. and measured 3.2 on the Richter scale. The first aftershock six minutes later measured 2.6, and the second hit at 5:45 p.m. and measured at 2.1 on the Richter scale.
People from McAlester, Lamar, Okmulgee, Holdenville and Weleetka reported feeling the earthquake.
``We do have occasional earthquakes in this part of the state,'' chief geophysicist Jim Lawson said. ``There's usually three a year in that area, but because they're smaller, they're generally not felt by anybody.''
