A big donation is giving some future health care workers a leg up, and saves about $80,000 of your tax dollars. That’s the value of some new X-ray equipment at TCC. The Claremore Indian Hospital upgraded its radiology lab and gave its old equipment to the college, and TCC says it's grateful to have it.
"It will certainly give our students in radiography a big step up toward being able to learn the latest techniques in radiography and to use this equipment which is also in use in the community," said TCC Associate Dean of Allied Health Services Jim Pickens.
A crane will lift the new X-ray machine through a fifth floor window of the school's downtown campus. TCC says the X-ray lab should be all hooked up and ready for students to use in the next three or four months.
