NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma women's basketball team is getting a verbal commitment from a Texas high school star.

Shooting guard Whitney Hand of Argyle Liberty Christian in the Dallas area says she'll sign with OU for the 2008-2009 season.

Hand says she chose OU over Southern California, Stanford, Texas, Baylor and Texas A&M.
