After a break from stormy weather, parts of Oklahoma will see rain early in the week.
The National Weather Service said an approaching weather system should reach northwestern Oklahoma late Monday and move across the state for the next few days. The system will drag a cold front into the state and cool temperatures back down to more seasonable levels.
On Sunday, skies were partly to mostly cloudy in southeastern Oklahoma. A few showers and storms popped up during the heating of the day but didn't stick around long.
Elsewhere, high pressure kept sky conditions clear to partly cloudy. Temperatures didn't vary much, ranging from 83 degrees in Clinton to 89 degrees in Tulsa. The high in Oklahoma City, Frederick and Hobart was 85 degrees.
Mostly sunny conditions are forecast for Monday, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in south-central Oklahoma remaining. Temperatures should reach the 80s before dipping into the 50s and 60s Monday night.
Skies should be mostly cloudy on Tuesday, with a better chance of storms statewide, forecasters said. Highs should reach the 70s and 80s.
Partly to mostly cloudy conditions on Wednesday should become partly cloudy by Thursday and Friday, according to forecasts. There will be a chance of storms in southern Oklahoma on Wednesday and a slight chance elsewhere.
Highs in the 60s and 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s are expected on Wednesday, according to forecasts.
There will be only a slight chance of storms in the Panhandle on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures reaching the 70s and approaching 80, the weather service said. Lows should dip into the 40s and 50s.
