PONTE VEDRA, Florida (AP) _ Phil Mickelson can add the Players Championship to his long list of tournament victories. Mickelson stayed in control and fired a final-round 69 to finish eleven under par for the tourney. This was Mickelson's 31st P-G-A Tour win.
Mickelson went 26 holes without a bogey before making bogey on the final hole when he had the tourney locked up. Sergio Garcia finished second by two shots. Stewart Cink and Jose Maria Olazabal tied for third.
Sean O'Hair fell from second to eleventh on the final two holes. O'Hair hit into the water twice while aiming for the island green on 17. O'Hair took a quadruple-bogey seven on the par-three hole. O'Hair then bogeyed the final hole.
