OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Traci Dickenson hit a three-run home run to lead Oklahoma to a 6-3 victory over Texas Tech in the Big 12 championship game today.
On an 0-1 pitch from Ashly Jacobs (17-15), Dickenson powered a curving fly ball that stayed inside the foul pole down the left-field line to break a 1-1 second-inning tie.
The Sooners added two more runs in the third inning when pinch runner Iver McDonald stole home. Jamie Fox then scored on Lindsey Vandever's sacrifice fly to make it 6-1.
From there, it was up to Lauren Eckermann to the second-seeded Sooners to its third Big 12 title.
The eighth-seeded Lady Raiders (24-27) needed extra innings to beat Oklahoma State and Number 1 seed Baylor in the first two rounds. Texas Tech then scored three seventh-inning runs to beat Texas A&M 4-3 in the semifinals earlier today.
Robyn Wike had an RBI double in the fourth to cut the deficit to 6-2 but the Lady Raiders stranded two runners in scoring position.
The Lady Raiders got within 6-3 on Whitney Riley's RBI groundout.
