WASHINGTON (AP) -- Oklahoma Congressman Frank Lucas is introducing a bill he says will help Oklahoma farmers grow crops that can be used to produce ethanol.
A part of Lucas' plan is to promote production of ethanol by using sources such as switchgrass or wheat straw and other plants that are not for human consumption.
Most ethanol currently being produced is made from corn and is driving up the price of corn for livestock feed.
Lucas is a member of the House Agriculture subcommittee which oversees farm-related energy programs.
