SULLIVAN, Mo. (AP) -- Police in eastern Missouri say medical records from Oklahoma have helped them determine the identity of a man whose remains were found in March along Interstate 44.
Franklin County, Missouri, Sheriff Gary Toelke says the dead man is 52 year-old Walter Mosier whose most recent address was in Seneca, Missouri. He was last seen alive last June.
How his medical records were in Oklahoma wasn't immediately explained.
The sheriff says Mosier was a drifter originally from Indiana. His remains were found near Sullivan, Missouri, about 60 miles southwest of St. Louis.
The sheriff says it appears Mosier was murdered but authorities don't know where he was killed.
