A man is recovering from minor injuries after rolling his four-wheeler down a bluff near the Verdigris River in Wagoner County. It happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when some friends were trying out their new ATV's. Wagoner County Sheriff’s deputies say the ATVs went off the trail, and one of the men went over a cliff, dropping as much as 20 feet down a muddy bank.
The man’s friend called for help. Sheriff's deputies and the Broken Arrow Fire Department responded. Emergency personnel had to use four-wheelers and some special ropes to get the unidentified ATV rider out. "There was absolutely no way to get a large vehicle, a passenger vehicle in the back. The only accessible routes were by walking or by ATV,†says Broken Arrow Fire Captain Gerald Stroup.
The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
