OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A report being released by the American Lung Association says Oklahoma and Tulsa counties are doing poorly in controlling air pollution. The lung association uses county air quality numbers to grade the air for smog and soot. Tulsa gets an "F" for smog and a "C" for soot. Oklahoma City gets a "B" for the amount of soot in the air and a "C" for smog.
Those grades rank Oklahoma's air as much better than that of the car-crowded West Coast or the industrial East Coast. But the association says the air in Oklahoma and Tulsa counties is not healthy to breathe on high-pollution days which come during the summer.
