NEW YORK (AP) _ Former Edmond North baseball star Matt Roney now in the minor leagues with Toronto is being suspended after testing positive for a drug of abuse. Roney is 2-0 with a .90 ERA at Triple-Syracuse after signing with the Blue Jays last November.
Drugs of abuse include cocaine, LSD, opiates, Ecstasy, GHB and PCP.
Blue Jays officials say they're looking into other ways to punish Roney.
Roney's father Steve told The Oklahoman his son only took a nutritional supplement containing ephedrine or ephedra and simply made a mistake.
Both ephedrine and ephedra are also banned in both the major and minor leagues.
