TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Valparaiso beats Oral Roberts 7-3, ending the Golden Eagles' 40-game conference home winning streak.
Valparaiso had never before won at ORU's J.L. Johnson Stadium and held a 3-42 record against the Golden Eagles entering Snday's game.
ORU falls to 24-15 overall and 7-1 in Mid-Continent Conference play.
ORU lost a home conference game for the first time since May 19th, 2002, when the Golden Eagles fell to Oakland. The loss also snapped a nine-game winning streak for ORU.
ORU led 2-1 entering the 4th inning, but the Crusaders went ahead as Joe Lazar tripled home Jason Brunelli and Josh Wallace followed with a RBI double off Marcus Tackett.
In the 5th inning, consecutive wild pitches allowed the Crusaders to score twice, and Lazar later drew a bases-loaded walk as part of a 4-run inning that put Valparaiso up 7-2.
Valparaiso is now 15-23 overall and 4-4 in league play.
