CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) _ An Oklahoma junior college forward has signed to play basketball for Illinois.

The Illini announced Wednesday that 6-foot-7 Rodney Alexander from Redlands Community College in El Reno would join Bruce Weber's squad next season.

Alexander averaged 13-point-8 points and 5-point-3 rebounds last season at Redlands while shooting 58-point-7 percent from the field.

Weber says Alexander can play both power forward and small forward, and has been developing his perimeter game while remaining a force inside.
