Tulsa Police are looking at surveillance video from a Fiesta Mart in east Tulsa, to see if they can learn what led to the shooting death of a Muskogee man. Tulsa Police do not believe the shooting early Sunday morning at an entrance ramp to U.S. Highway 169 was random.
Detectives say 20-year-old Terrance Buckner and two friends had been at the Genesis Club in Tulsa and got into a discussion with some other men. Police officers say that discussion carried over to a nearby Fiesta Mart, where the suspects followed the victim and his friends.
Tulsa Police say at least 12 shots were fired from two suspect vehicles at the victim's pickup truck on U.S. Highway 169 near 51st Street. Officers say three different weapons were fired, including an SKS assault rifle. Two other victims inside the pickup truck were not hurt. Buckner died at the scene.
Buckner's death was Tulsa's 19th homicide of the year.
Initial reports show the men in the pickup and the suspects had a disagreement over a necklace, but Tulsa Police are still investigating.
