WASHINGTON (AP) -- Eric Byrnes and Chad Tracy drove in 2 runs apiece in Arizona's 7-1 win at Washington.
Byrnes homered and Tracy laced a 2-run double while the Diamondbacks were building a 6-0 lead. Tracy's 2-bagger came in the D-Backs' 3-run 1st off loser John Patterson.
Winning pitcher Brandon Webb was exceptional over 7 innings, allowing 1 run and 7 hits while striking out 8. He had a shutout until Austin Kearns homered in the 6th.
Patterson was reached for 3 runs and 4 hits in 5 innings to fall to 0-2.
The Nationals have trailed 4-0 in each of their first six games. They've been outscored 42-17 this season.
