NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ The former manager of a Norman auto dealership is disputing a claim by former Oklahoma quarterback Rhett Bomar that OU players were told they didn't have to work to be paid.

Bomar and former offensive lineman JD Quinn were kicked off the team last August for accepting pay for hours they did not work at Big Red Sports and Imports.

Bomar told ESPN that while he is responsible for his actions it was former Big Red general manager Brad McRae who allowed the situation and that McRae told the players not to worry about going to work.

McRae says he told the players they wouldn't have to work real hard, but says he also told them they would have to work.

OU officials including athletic director Joe Castiglione and coach Bob Stoops are to appear before the NCAA infractions committee next week to discuss the issue.
