The attorney for a Muskogee high school principal says he'll file an injunction Thursday on his client's behalf. Hilldale High School Principal Dewayne Pemberton was dismissed following an emotional school board meeting last weekend.

School officials say that dismissal stemmed from a disagreement over a long-standing practice of requiring coaches to obtain a commercial driver's license so they can transport athletes to games. Pemberton was accused of interfering with the requirement when it was applied to his future daughter-in-law.

Pemberton’s attorney Richard O'Carroll anticipates Pemberton’s request for an injunction will block the school board's decision to fire his client.
