WASHINGTON (AP) -- A dry pet food is being recalled amid concern over animal food contamination.
Hill's Pet Nutrition is calling back its Prescription Diet m/d Feline dry cat food. The company says it contains wheat gluten from the same supplier that triggered recalls and investigations of pet foods manufactured by Menu Foods.
Meanwhile, the Food and Drug Administration says it found a chemical used to make plastics in samples of pet foods from Menu, that are involved in the original recall. The FDA says the chemical, melamine was also found in imported wheat gluten used in the company's wet-style products.
But the FDA says it found no trace of a cancer drug also used as rat poison. Experts in New York state say their tests found that substance.
