A hearing for a woman accused of abusing her 4-year-old nephew has been delayed. Sharon Smith’s child abuse trial has been pushed back until May.
The boy was taken from his mother, Melanie Smith, in June of 2005. Prosecutors say he was badly malnourished to the point that his bones had stopped growing properly and he needed a cane to stand.
Melanie Smith is serving time in prison for child neglect.
