Man Ejected From Truck Dies

COMMERCE, Okla. (AP) A Miami man dies Sunday after being ejected from his pickup during an accident on a rural Ottawa County road.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 29-year-old Matthew Brian Walters missed a 90-degree curve while driving at an unsafe speed on a county road five miles west and one mile north of Commerce about 2:30 a.m.

Troopers say Walters' pickup ran off the side of the road, went through a metal fence and struck a tree. Walters was thrown 37 feet from the second point of impact.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
