UNDATED (AP) _ Kobe Bryant continues his torrid scoring in the NBA. He's the first Laker in more than 40 years to score at least 50 points for the third straight game. Bryant scored 60 in the LA Lakers' 121-119 win over Memphis.
Bryant was 20-37 from the field, including 3-7 3-pointers. He was 17 of 18 from the free-throw line. Lamar Odom added 20 for the Lakers.
The last Laker with three consecutive 50-point games was Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor in December 1962.
Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain are the only other players with three straight 50-point games.
Bryant will try to extend the run when the Lakers face the New Orleans Hornets Friday night.
In the rest of the NBA:
-- Brandon Roy scored 24 points and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the New York Knicks, 92-86 in a loss that hurts the Knicks playoff standing. Jamaal Magloire had his best game of the season with 14 points and a season-high 16 rebounds.
-- Houston won its fifth in a row, 91-85 over Detroit. Yao Ming had 27 points and 7-rebounds.
-- Rookie Tyrus Thomas scored on a tip-in with .2 left to give the Chicago Bulls a 109-108 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
-- Amare Stoudemire had 33 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 118-100 win over Sacramento. The Kings have lost eight of nine.
