STROUD, Okla. (AP) A Stroud woman is clinging to life at a Tulsa hospital after being found shot several times Monday morning along a Lincoln County Highway.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says 51-year-old Pam Yarborough underwent surgery Monday morning at a Tulsa hospital and is in critical condition.

A motorist driving along Highway 99 south of Stroud noticed Yarborough's body and called police.

Brown says OSBI agents and Lincoln County investigators are currently interviewing 62-year-old James Sargent in connection with the shooting. Brown described Sargent as -- quote -- ``a person of interest.''
