MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- A 3-year-old boy was found wandering alone in a street in Muskogee and prosecutors says charges are likely against his foster parents.

The boy was found barefoot shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday by a motorist about a block-and-a-half from the foster home where he was living.

The names of the foster parents haven't been released but prosecutors say neglect charges are likely.

Assistant Muskogee County District Attorney Nikki Baker Dotson said allowing a 3-year-old to wander the streets at night even unintentionally is not acceptable. "The district attorney's office likes to support foster parents and those who step up to help with children who have to be taken out of a bad situation," Dotson said. "But you have to hold them to the same standard as everybody else."
